ALFCIC (Adept Living Foundation CIC)
Building healthy & sustainable communities
ALFCIC is a peer led, grassroots, community organisation that supports those who have struggled or are struggling with emotional distress and its aftermath that may have been caused by trauma/PTSD, life stress, or ill health, to recover; find purposeful occupation; and become thriving members of their local communities.
ALF has been working in local communities for over 15 years. We have several decades’ training & experience in psychology; therapeutic coaching; peer mentoring/support; teaching & training; music; business & finance, as well as our own experiences of overcoming adversity.
Emotional wellbeing comes from being part of a safe and supportive community, making friends and nurturing healthy relationships, living a life that holds meaning for us, having a purpose, utilising our unique gifts, strengths, and talents, being of service to others, valuing ourselves and others.
Through Wreckers Music and we meet ALF's aims, and this is our primary purpose.
ALFCIC's frontline staff continues to train Peer Support Workers for roles in the NHS and voluntary sector via other organisations and takes on adhoc peer mentoring, coaching, and group work in the local community.
